We are in search of a Director of Surgical Services for a 107 bed For Profit Hospital located in Western Kentucky.

Reports To CNO

2 Endo, 5 OR, 1 cath lab Any other departments the director covers? Endo, Same Day, OR, PACU How many employees report? 36 FT and 6 PRN What robotic system used

Salary range $93,500.00 to $112,000.00

Up to $7500 relocation

Qualification Must-Haves

Bachelors in applicable field or experience in lieu of degree

RN licensed to work in the state of Kentucky

Progressive leadership experience of 3+ years

 

Nice-To-Haves

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire

 

 

Job Description

The Surgery unit at this Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This is a 5-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support.

 

The Surgical Services Director directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives

 

Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.

Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.

Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.

Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.

Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.

Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

Regular and reliable attendance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.

Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality standards.

Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.

 

From emergent to elective, our facility offers a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including those offered at the New Beginnings Birthing Center, the Advanced Healing Wound Care Center, and our accredited chest pain center.
