    Description

    Our client, a 150+ bed hospital located about an hour from Montgomery, AL, has a need for an experienced Director Surgical Services to join their team.

    The Nursing Division Manager is responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care through effective management of the activities of the total patient care services as outlined in the Mission, and Guiding Principles. Communication is vital between the Department Manager, staff, physicians, Supervisor and CNO. The Manager monitors activities of human resources management, patient care management, and material management for the delivery of patient care. The Manager functions as an educator, resource person, and guidance to the staff in his or her department. The Manager will assist with patient care as required. The Manager is responsible for the department/departments under his/her leadership 24 hours a day in regard to the Quality of Care, Staffing, and Fiscal Matters. Decisions will be based on Hospital Administration Policies, Personnel Policies and Policies of the individual department. The Manager will direct and guide patient centered care and insure optimal, care and service in accordance with physician orders.

    3. Colon Resection
    4. Cataract Surgery
    5. FESS- Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
    6. Tonsillectomy
    7. Knee arthroscopy
    8. Shoulder arthroscopy
    9. Endoscopy (colon and EGD)
    10.  Hysterectomy

     

    Equipment:

    1. Stryker, Olympus and Wolfe   Laparoscopic Equipment

     

    Service Lines

    1. Orthopedic

    7. ENDO

     

    Case Volume:

    Monthly- 250-300

    Annually-  3,000-3600

    Job Requirements

    Minimum Education
    Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

     

    Required Experience
    A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required. Previous supervisory/management experience preferred. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Basic computer knowledge is required.

    Required Licenses
    Current Alabama Registered Nurse license; Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

    The town is on a bluff above the rolling waters of the Alabama River. The town is rich in history and gracious in its manner. Just 45 minutes from Montgomery, the is home to the largest historic district in Alabama, with over 1,200 historic structures, palatial antebellum and Victorian homes and museums. The area is a dream come true for the outdoor enthusiast. The Alabama River provides unlimited fishing, boating and water sports fun. The area boasts 12 commercial hunting organizations, offering opportunities to hunt buck, quail and turkey. There are two public golf courses in the area, and five Robert Trent Jones golf courses within a two-hour drive. The city also sports lighted baseball and softball diamonds, 20 hard-surfaced tennis courts and organized leagues in baseball, football, soccer, softball and tennis.

     

    The salary range is $90k - $110k.
