Emergency Department Director-rural New Mexico

Position Summary:
The Emergency Department Director is responsible to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). The director has 24-hour responsibility to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of Nursing Care to the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult & geriatric patients within the Emergency Department (ED). The Emergency Department Director is qualified to perform the duties of this position by initial education, continuing education and experience. The director is also responsible for the fiscal & operational management of the ED. The Emergency Department Director is responsible for completing all duties assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or required within 5 years of hire.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ nursing experience required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ clinical and leadership experience preferred. Required
  • Current RN license to practice professional Nursing in the State of New Mexico or acceptable compact state RN licensure required.
  • Current verification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support required (If ACLS verification is not current upon hire, must be obtained within 3 months of hire).
  • Current verification in Basic Life Support. (If BLS verification is not current upon hire must be obtained within three (3) months of hire).
  • Must complete PALS, ENPC, and TNCC within six (6) months of hire.
