Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Director of Pharmacy performs duties of considerable difficulty in organizing and supervising Pharmacy services. Provides Pharmacy Service oversight responsibility of RMCHCS Hospital, College Clinic, and Red Rock Clinic and Rapid Care. The Director of Pharmacy provides appropriate and proactive services to all customers of RMCHCS. Performs as Pharmacist and takes Pharmacy Call approximately 35% of the time. The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for completing all duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Graduation from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy is required.
- At least three (3) years’ acute hospital pharmacy management experience is required.
- Competent in the practice of hospital pharmacy (laws and regulations, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, sterile preparation, delivery and distribution systems, safety and infection standards, basic computer skills and ASHP standards of practice.
- BLS certification required. (If BLS verification is not current upon hire must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.)
- Current licensure and registration as a Pharmacist in New Mexico required.
Sterile Products Certification required.
This area lies on Interstate 40 (Historic Route 66), 139 miles west of Albuquerque and 25 miles east of the Arizona border. The city is the tour hub for the popular Four Corners Region, and it is the mercantile, transportation and banking center for the entire area.
