Description

Director of Perioperative Services

Los Angeles, California Region.

About the Opportunity

A large, rapidly growing Southern California hospital is seeking a Director of Perioperative Services to lead OR, PACU, ASC, GI, and SPD operations. This is a comprehensive, multi-specialty facility recognized with an “A” grade in patient safety by The Leapfrog Group and backed by a powerhouse CNO and executive team known for collaboration, transparency, and clinical excellence.

The CNO—a dynamic, values-driven leader who previously worked in consulting—has helped shape a culture rooted in accountability, equity, and shared vision. She partners closely with a seasoned CEO from a for-profit system (HCA) who understands operational discipline while championing high-quality patient care. Together, they have built a strong, clinically focused leadership team that empowers department leaders to drive meaningful change.

This is the ideal opportunity for a seasoned California Perioperative Director (or a strong, ambitious Manager ready to step up) who can hit the ground running, shift culture toward collaboration, and standardize processes across service lines.

Key Responsibilities

Provide operational and clinical leadership for OR, PACU, ASC, GI Lab, and SPD.

Standardize policies, processes, and perioperative workflows across departments.

Build a culture of teamwork, transparency, and equitable collaboration between nursing, physicians, and support teams.

Partner with infection prevention and environmental services to ensure compliance with AORN, ASHRAE, CMS, and National Patient Safety Goals.

Oversee budgets, staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization to ensure efficiency and ROI.

Collaborate with physicians to improve block utilization, robot use, and pre-surgical readiness (H&P, labs, patient prep).

Mentor managers and staff to foster accountability, innovation, and shared ownership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Nursing required; Master’s preferred.

Current California RN license, BLS, and Fire Card.

5+ years of recent perioperative leadership in an acute hospital setting.

Strong understanding of AORN standards, CMS compliance, and regulatory readiness.

Proven ability to lead diverse surgical teams through culture change and process improvement.

Exceptional communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

A team player with the credibility and confidence to partner effectively with surgeons and executives.

Why Join Us?

Powerhouse Leadership: Work directly with a stellar CNO and a seasoned CEO who empower leaders to drive transformation.

Collaborative Culture: Join a team committed to breaking down silos and elevating every stakeholder’s voice.

Mission & Momentum: A hospital that is turning over every stone—focused on transparency, physician accountability, and continuous improvement.

Top Performance: Recognized with an “A” Leapfrog safety grade and a growing reputation for surgical innovation.
