Experienced and skillful Acute Critical Care Nurse Practitioner needed for a hospital in rural area of New Mexico
This Critical Care Nurse Practitioner cares for out patients that are dealing with critical conditions and illnesses.
The Acute Critical Care NP works in our inpatient ICU and interprets diagnostic tests, works with patients, families and physicians to establish care plans through comprehensive knowledge of acute and chronic conditions, diagnostics and treatment. The NP will assess patient conditions, educate patients and family members about medical options, prescribe medications and treatments, and performs other duties to support patient care. The NP will also provide continuous education to the ICU for the purposes of continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications:Must be eligible for hospital privileges
Master's degree or Doctorate
NM Nurse Practitioner Licensure
Current certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or National Certificate Corporation (NCC)
Knowledge of acute critical conditions and treatments shown through documentation of the management of at least 30 patients in the ICU by sponsoring physician
Understanding of diagnostic tests and ability to interpret test results
Relevant continuing medical education
AHA BLS certification
AHA ACLS certification
NRP certification
AHA PALS certification
5 years critical care experience, 2 years in the Nurse Practitioner Role
