Labor & Delivery RN (FT/Nights)

Houston TX

Reports To Clinical Manager

Position Details:

Full Time Nights

Level 4 Maternal Designated Facility

12 labor beds, 19 antepartum beds, 4 swing beds

Approximately 400-450 deliveries a month

Salary $89,000.00 TO $140,000.00

 

Qualifications must-Haves

Must have an active RN Texas License, or active multi-state compact RN license, clear of stipulations or disciplinary actions.

Must have BSN Minimum 2-3 years experience in an acute care setting that is Labor and Delivery (No ADN, new grads, will be considered this is not negotiable for fee and platform)

Must have at least 3 years of Acute care RN experience

Must have an updated resume - job history dates and units worked in must be accurate

Night Shift Availability Required – Candidates must be available to work night shifts exclusively. Please note that no day shift positions, transfers, or promotional opportunities are currently available. Only applicants seeking night shift roles will be considered.

 

Nice-To-Haves

Must be honest about unit, shift, and location they are interested in working - if someone is unhappy with nights but they take it because "it's a job" this commonly shows up in a hiring leader interview and we receive feedback to not move forward with an offer.

Extended women services RN experience is a plus

Must be able to communicate efficiently

 

Job Summary

Collaborates with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process; provides professional nursing care to patients, including conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records.  MHHS hires RNs based on years of experience groupings (i.e. newly licensed RN [working under the supervision of RN clinical preceptor], less than 1 year, 1-3 years, 3 to 10 and 10+).
