Rockets Orthopedic Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Knee Replacement with zero deficiencies. It is the first hospital in Houston to earn this advanced certification, which is given to Joint Commission-accredited hospitals, critical access hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers seeking to elevate the quality, consistency and safety of their services and patient care.
The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Knee Replacement was established in 2016 and is awarded for a two-year period. The advanced certification was developed in response to the growing number of patients undergoing total hip or total knee replacement surgery, as well as the increased focus on clinical evidence-based patient care as it relates to pain management, quality of life issues, functional limitation in mobility and the return to normal daily activities.
Initial Certification for Spine Surgery
Rockets Orthopedic Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Initial Certification for Spine Surgery. Blue Distinction Center+ for Spine Surgery
Blue Distinction Centers+ are recognized for their expertise and cost-efficiency in delivering specialty care. The goal of the program is to help consumers find both quality and value for their specialty care needs, while encouraging healthcare professionals to improve the overall quality and delivery of healthcare nationwide, and providing a credible foundation for local Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plans (Blue Plans) to design benefits tailored to meet employers’ quality and cost objectives.
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Nursing degree from an accredited school of professional nursing required For clinical manager positions in Magnet-designated hospitals or hospitals in pursuit of Magnet designation, a minimum of a Bachelors of Nursing is required at the time of hire or promotion
Licenses/Certification
Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
Certified in Basic Life Support
Professional certification in clinical area or management preferred
Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Three or more (3+) years experience in clinical area of practice and minimum one (1) year experience in a supervisory or management role
Clinical Manager II: Additional two (2) years experience (3 years total) in supervisory or management job
