We are looking for a Radiation Therapist to join our growing Cancer Institute team! In your role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our Radiation Oncologist team delivering the prescribed course of therapy to our patients. From observing and reporting unusual treatment reactions, to maintaining proper open communication, assisting with procedures and much more, you will have the constant opportunity to learn and grow in your area of specialty and the continuum of care for our patients.
This Community Medical Center opened at its current location as a 109-bed hospital in 1988. Since then, there's been nothing but growth. In your role, you will:
Accurately deliver a prescribed course of radiation therapy, as prescribed by a radiation oncologist, and maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient EMR.
Exhibit competency in the proper use of departmental Linear Accelerators and/or CyberKnife machine.
Prior to treating a new patient: verify consent is present, read radiation therapy consult, review treatment plan, MD orders and set up instructions.
Verify patient, treatment site and dose during time out procedure in treatment room, as well as at treatment console, in accordance with department policy and procedure, prior to delivering prescribed radiation treatment.
Participate in the imaging process, including: initial verification imaging, as well as ongoing imaging, according to MD orders, comparison to DRR’s and ensure approval of imaging in a timely manner, per department policy and procedure, and make changes, as necessary.
Perform simulations using departmental procedures and assist in the planning and fabrication of immobilization devices, boluses or custom shields. Ensure patient set up instructions and photographs are entered in patient EMR.
Completion of an AMA approved Radiation Therapy Program required
Licenses and Certifications
CRT - State of California Certified Radiologic Technologist required
ARRT(T) - ARRT Radiation Therapy required
BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
CRT - State of California Certified Radiologic Technologist
Completion of an AMA approved Radiation Therapy Program
Base Salary - USD $89,273 to $133,910
