This Medical Center is a 47-bed acute-care facility, the major health care institution, and the only hospital in the community. Its medical staff of 55 active, and another 40 consulting physicians, bring to the community a level of sophisticated medical technology and technique not common to “small community hospitals.” Best known for its high-touch care, those it has served in Northern New Mexico for nearly 40 years consider the hospital a regional medical center. Most of the active physicians have their main offices on the medical center campus.
Must-Haves
Current NM RN licensure or appropriate compact licensure.
Current BLS, NRP within 90 days from hire, ACLS and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within six (6) months from hire.
Associates degree in nursing required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Relevant clinical and supervisory experience with a minimum of two years of OB experience required.
Ability to step into patient care when necessary

Job Description
$25,000.00 Sign-On

Description:
This position directs the clinical functions of the L&D Unit of the facility, consisting of Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn and Special Care Nursery, supervising approximately 12 FTEs.
This position will also supervise the Respiratory Therapy Unit, supervising approximately 5 - 7 employees.
Essential functions for this position include but are not limited to: demonstrating age-specific competencies for the care and treatment of neonates, adolescent and adult patients; assuring the departments function effectively and efficiently, with adequate staffing and skill mix to meet patient needs; maintains required OB and Rt statistics and reports as scheduled' over sees self-scheduling of staff to meet patient and facility needs; Provides OB and RT with representation for evaluating new products and equipment.
Communicates with numerous vendors regarding equipment/supplies, pricing and purchase; serves as a local resource to staff, physicians, and administration on OB and professional nursing issues, utilizes UNM Outreach program and other resources to maintain staff currency.
