Job Summary
The Director NPCU leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer who is responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization.
The Director is accountable to support the CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care. This leader will assume responsibility for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on unit level. Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel. Provide clinical leadership, strategic and long-term goals for the nursing staff. Determine, assign, and assess performance objectives for nursing department. Organize, coordinate, develop and review policies, procedures, and nursing protocols to meet all regulatory, compliance and quality care standards. Responsible for the quality of care, operational and financial efficiency of the nursing unit. Lead and develop the nursing staff within the unit, providing performance goals, feedback, and development opportunities. Develop and oversee function/departmental budget and reporting. Direct and conduct recruitment, hiring and training of personnel. Chair committees as assigned.
