Must-Haves Qualifications
Able to recognize problems within the pharmacy systems and correct in a timely manner.
Familiar with electronic health records and basic knowledge of informatics
Ability to handle both small tasks and large projects and prioritize needs of the facility

Familiar with Meditech magic
Familiar with smart pumps
Familiar with basic hospital pharmacy operations as staffing could be a part of this position

Job Description
The Informatics Pharmacist works under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director, and collaborates with Pharmacy colleagues, Nursing, Information Technology Services, and the Medical Staff in supporting the Pharmacy Information system and the computerized physician order entry (CPOE) system. The Informatics Pharmacist is also responsible for the development, building, implementation, and ongoing maintenance and synchronization of the various medication related technologies including the electronic health record, automated dispensing cabinets, smart infusion pumps, bedside medication verification, IV workflow systems, and clinical monitoring software. This individual also supports pharmacists as the resource for pharmacy system changes and serves as a departmental resource for medication-related technologies staff education. The Informatics Pharmacist also performs the duties of a staff pharmacist to remain engaged with daily Pharmacy activities.
The Informatics Pharmacist demonstrates competency in personal computing programs, especially Microsoft Office applications. The individual works well independently with minimal direct supervision and possesses excellent written and oral communication skills with other colleagues, department directors, vendors, and others involved as daily work responsibilities are performed. The colleague is also effective at prioritizing deliverables while managing projects at various stages of development in a rapid and constantly changing environment.
