United Pro Search is seeking candidates for a Director of Surgical Services opportunity with a county-owned, not -for-profit, 68 bed acute care hospital
7 OR suites
2 x Ortho Surgeons, 3 x General Surgeons, 1 x Podiatrist and staff for OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, and Pain
Approximately 310 procedures in the OR per month
This position reports to the CEO
Oversees approximately 40 employees
They do not use robotics and they do not do transplants
They have a lot of travelers (RNs) – you must love being on call
They have their own surgery center
They have a dedicated Environmental Services staff who specifically report to the OR
Salary – based on documented years of experience – approximate mid-range is $100-110K

Under the general direction and in communication with the CNO, the Director of Surgical Services is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating and improving the processes for patient surgical services, and for providing safe, prudent and economical nursing care according to regulatory standards. S/he coordinates all patient care and safety activities in Surgical Services, manages the department routines, caregivers, and serves as a member of the leadership team. She/he serves as a positive representation of Gila Regional Medical Center within GRMC and out in the community.
Minimum BSN or currently enrolled in a BSN program. Master’s degree in nursing or related field preferred.
Current New Mexico or multi-state RN license
Current CPR (AHA), ACLS and PALS certification
CNOR certification upon hire or within 1 year of hire date
Maintain membership in AORN
Minimum 5 years progressive experience in perioperative nursing
Minimum 3 years Nursing management experience preferred
Essentials of Execution when first available after hire date
Advanced Essentials of Execution when first available after achieving Essentials of Execution
