    Director of Quality Management

    REPORTS TO

    CEO

    $85,000.00 to $100,000.00

    SIGNING BONUS

    Must-Haves

    Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

    Current licensure by the State of Tennessee or a compact agreement state as a Registered Nurse.

    Must have knowledge in regulatory standards and requirements for The Joint Commission and CMS.

    Hospital based experience

    Nice-To-Haves

    2+ experience in leading a Quality Department

    5 years of Utilization Management experience

    Job Description

    Directs the Quality/Utilization department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. Develops and implements Quality and Utilization goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.

     

    Oversees all quality management activities including: performance improvement, quality review, Joint Commission readiness, and core measures management.

     

    This individual takes a pro-active role in the CoSE process. The position requires that the individual have a clear understanding of the culture of safety and engagement (CoSE) and is actively involved in any existing action plan for a department.

     

    Monitor discharge process and ensuring clinical documentation is done accurately.

     

    Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.

     

    Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.

     

    Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

     

    Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

     

    Assures quality of care by adhering to established best-practices and standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and philosophies and standards of care set by the Tennessee Board of Nursing, and other governing agencies.

     

    Consistently monitors metrics designed to measure the quality of care the facility is providing.

     

    Ensures that the appropriate metrics are in place to give accurate and meaningful information.

     

    Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.

     

    Participates in hospital and medical staff committees as required.

     

    Establishes policies and procedures as needed
