Our client, a 85+ bed hospital located in Northern VA, near Manassas, and 40 miles from Washington DC, has a need for a Director of Nursing for their Long Term Care Facility.
Directs Nursing care within the hospital and supervises staff as well as work flow. Responsible 24 hours a day for the ongoing effective operation of the assigned Nursing department by exerting a leadership role which supports the hospital's mission, vision, goals and objectives, while focusing on the patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and the community as customers. Ongoing accountability for the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination and integration of the department services and standards of care into the hospital's primary function. Position is responsible for approving timekeeping, employee evaluation, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders and department strategic planning.
The Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is a 100+ bed center located on the Hospital campus, offering nearby access to hospital and physician services. Its proximity to and affiliation with the hospital allow a rare continuity of care not found at other facilities. Services include physical, occupational and speech rehabilitation; long term care and respite services. The Rehabilitation & Nursing Center has the only warm, saltwater therapy pool in the area.
This position is eligible for Director Bonus which can earn up to 10% of annual salary. The Director Bonus is based off of quality measures that are set by Corporate. The categories currently focus on financial, quality and satisfaction scores.
FTEs-roughly 52 FTEs.
Associates degree (Nursing). Current Virginia State RN license; BLS. Membership in at least one leadership organization of choice pertinent to DON role.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree (Nursing). 3 years experience in nursing management with 2 years Long Term Care experience.
Hours are primarily Monday through Friday – 8 hours per day. Flexible about start times but there is a daily morning stand-up at 9:00 so would like someone in the building by 8:30. There is an on-call requirement – DON is in rotation with other management nurses to be on call from Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m. As a DON, it is expected they will work when needed on weekends, after hours and holidays.

Pay range: min-$40.00 mid-$50.00 max-$60.00
