    Director of Medical Surgical

    SHIFT:  Full-time • Days > 10 Hrs/Wkdays Only

    This hospital is a 175+ bed acute-care facility located north of Austin, Texas. This comprehensive medical center features the only hybrid operating room in the county, a 24-hour emergency department with a Level II trauma center, and leading-edge cardiac care through the Heart Hospital. Patients may also receive care related to rehabilitation services, women’s services, cancer care, neurology, joint replacement and orthotics, and more when visiting this facility.

    This Medical Center is  one of the largest healthcare systems in Texas and the third-largest employer in the Austin area.

    Job Summary

    The Director ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the unit(s)/department(s) in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives. You will cultivate a superior clinical identity by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes. Ensures adherence to standards of care. You will manage variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost. Ensures a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care.

    Qualifications

    • Basic Cardiac Life Support
    • Registered Nurse
    • Bachelors Degree
    • MSN, MHA, or MBA preferred
    • Certification in specialty required within six months
    • 2-3+ years experience in a managerial/directorial role in an acute care setting
    • 2+ years experience as a Registered Nurse

    • 3 Units: Med Surg, Oncology and Post op Surgical (each has a manager reporting to the Director)
    • FTE- 100
    • 82 Beds

    Compensation- Salary range up to 130K max plus  leadership bonus based on years of experience

    SOB and relocation assistance on a case by case basis
