We are seeking candidates for a Director of Emergency opportunity for a hospital located in northeast Texas (Tyler/Jacksonville area).

One year ER experience, charge nurse or leadership preferred.

Job Description
Directs the Emergency Services Department's activities and resources to achieve organizational objectives.
Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives. Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth. Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Minimum Education
Associate degree in Nursing required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
One year ER experience, charge nurse or leadership preferred.
Required Licenses
Must have a current Texas Registered Nurse license or a current Compact State Registered Nurse license
Required Skills
Handle with Care certification and American Heart Association
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
Must have an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS),
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS),
Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS)
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 90 days of hire or transfer.
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) is preferred within one year of employment/eligibility.
EMTALA & EHAC training upon hire and once each year following.
