Compensation: Salary range from 120’s range (based on years of experience) with up to 15% of annual incentive bonus

Sign on bonus up to $15K

Relocation assistance up to 10K

SHIFT: Full-time No Weekends

With over 370 beds our client hospital offers outstanding heart and cancer care, general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, obstetrics and gynecology services, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, sleep disorder evaluation and the largest emergency room in downtown San Antonio. Our women’s pavilion is the only stand-alone center city facility dedicated to the health of women and their newborn babies, welcoming nearly 4,000 newborns into the world each year.

Job Summary

The Director facilitates, coordinates and delegates the delivery of patient care to a defined group of patients during their entire hospitalization period. Provides leadership and overall responsibility for the functioning of assigned clinical patient care/procedural unit(s). Job Responsibilities

  • The Director reports to the Senior Director, Vice President and/or the Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Responsible 24 hours a day, with full accountability, for 70-80 staff, 40-50 beds, and management of patient care in each of his/her units, for promoting the practice of professional nursing in a specified patient care area, and for the acquisition, development, and utilization of resources (human and material) needed to fulfill those responsibilities.
  • Liaison between physicians and the patient care team and works cooperatively with administrators, physicians, staff, other managers and all customers of the Methodist Healthcare System to provide services, which consistently meet and exceed the expectations of their customers.
  • Assess and prioritize opportunities to improve, plan and implement effective changes and evaluate outcomes of process improvement activities.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Three years recent RN acute care experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Must have current RN license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas or ability to obtain temporary license prior to hire. Must have Texas RN license within 90 days of hire.
  • Prefers someone with experience in the survey process for maternal designation as facility is in pursuit of level 8
  • Actively involved with ACOG and AWOHNN standards

  • 4K Deliveries per yr
  • FTE’s 60-70 1 Nurse Manager and 1 Quality/Educator
  • Reports to the ACNO
  • Must have TX license prior to starting
  • Candidate must be high energy, strong leadership skills
