Chief Physician Assistant
REPORTS TO
Director, Cardiothoracic Surgery
All physician assistants are supervised by a supervising physician. The Chief Physician Assistant coordinates the activities of the team of APPs (both inpatient and outpatient). Position: Chief Physician Assistant Department: Cardiothoracic Surgery This is 25% Admin, Supervisor & Management role. Ideal candidate, cardiac experience in a leadership role.
$170,000.00 to $200,000.00

Federal DEA; Massachusetts Controlled Substance; Massachusetts DPH Board of Registration; CPR Life Support; NCC-PA certificate

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Graduated from academic program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
Minimum bachelor’s degree with completion of a two-year accredited physician assistant program.
Successful passed and completion of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants examination.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
Federal DEA; Massachusetts Controlled Substance; Massachusetts DPH Board of Registration; CPR Life Support; NCC-PA certificate
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years clinical experience
Must have 3-5 years clinical experience including recent experience preferable
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
Demonstrated knowledge of various health systems and cost reduction strategies.
Effective verbal and written communication skills appropriate to the patient populations served.
Self-directed, self-starter and able to implement new program.
Demonstrated ability as an effective leader.
Demonstrated ability to apply principles of adult learning to provide education to staff, physician, and auxiliary staff.
Analytical ability to solve clinical issues, conduct quality improvement, and research projects.
Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently to complete assigned workload.
Physical ability to meet core job responsibilities in accordance with practice setting demands for the patient populations regularly served
Ability to manage stress due to critical patient care issues, changing organizational climate and personnel issues.
Multi-lingual skills (beyond that of English) in languages appropriate to patient populations served by the Medical Center.
