Responsibilities:
Accountable for managing staff, operations, systems, and resources to ensure optimal results and high employee engagement. Assures that the department is run according to organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Provides leadership for the overall daily clinical and distributive operation of the Pharmacy providing safe and effective pharmacy services. Mentors and manages pharmacy staff in providing integrated clinical pharmacy activity. Responsible for oversight of hospital-wide controlled substance management. Serves as system administrator for dispensing automation. Manages the operations and functions of IV admixture services assuring that all operational and regulatory requirements are met. Responsible for departmental work schedule and payroll. Develops and updates departmental policies and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements as well as pharmacy best practices. Evaluates and responds to medication event reports relevant to pharmacy operations. Monitors workflow on an ongoing basis and formulates strategies for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
5+ years Hospital Pharmacy experience required
3+ years Hospital Pharmacy leadership preferred
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
PA State Pharmacist License required
PGY1/PGY2 Residency preferred
