We are seeking candidates for a Director of Acute Care & ICU for Island Hospital located in Anacortes WA
The Director of Acute Care and the Intensive Care Unit has responsibility for the management and operation of the nursing units and is accountable for the development of annual goals and evaluation of care. The Director serves as a clinical role model and is actively involved in initiatives to continually improve the patient care experience. This department is comprised of 25 licensed acute care beds, 6 short stay unit beds and 6 ICU beds.
This role is a valuable member of our Leadership Team and a collaborative clinical partner with Physicians, Executives, clinical and support staff working to provide optimal care experiences for patients and their families. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Leader focused on delivering positive patient care outcomes and ensuring the success of the Acute Care and Intensive Care Unit Teams.
Key areas of responsibility for this Leader include oversight of the patient care experience, employee engagement, coaching & leading the team for success, managing staffing levels, training metrics, ensuring achievement of compliance requirements, and fiscal management of departmental assets. This role is instrumental in implementing and evaluating quality improvement initiatives, actively engaging in patient satisfaction measures, providing direct involvement with work process standards and performance goals to ensure exceptional service delivery and patient care.

Position Requirements
Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in an acute care and intensive care unit setting.
Minimum of two (2) years of previous clinical leadership experience.
BSN required and a Master’s degree is preferred with a focus on business, management or healthcare administration.
Must maintain an active RN license issued by the WA Department of Health.
Must maintain active BLS and ACLS certifications.
Superior interpersonal and effective communication skills.

COMPENSATION
Base Salary - $94,000 to $140,000
